Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work

A nationally accredited vocational training program for individuals and family/kin of people with lived experience of mental ill-health and related issues including problematic alcohol, drug and gambling issues. Peer Workers work in mental health and drug and alcohol services supporting the recovery others.

Prior participation in either ‘Growing Stronger’, ‘Recovery Together’ or ‘Circles of Support’ is usually required. Further information will be provided.

Growing Stronger

A peer support program where participants explore non-clinical strategies to strengthen their mental health and wellbeing through discussions and creative activities. Suitable for people who experiences challenges impacting their mental health and wellbeing. Also suited to people who would like to change their use of alcohol, drugs or gambling. No requirement to disclose reason for attending within the program.

Participation in this program, provides the option to enrol in the Certificate IV in Peer Work commencing in Term 4, 2024.

Promoting Wellbeing

A 2-hour workshop that provides an overview evidence-based non-clinical recovery models and strategies that can be applied to strengthen your own mental health and wellbeing. Suitable for all members of the community including professionals and people with lived experience.

Supporting Neurodivergent Youth

A free 3-hour workshop which aims to build the knowledge and skills of adults to support young people who have ‘diverse’ abilities and different experiences of the world (e.g. autism, ADHD, trauma, mental ill-health, sensory processing needs, FASD).

Hope for Recovery

Understanding the impact of Mental Health & Addiction on Individuals and their Families. Free 1-hour workshop series presenting evidence-based information from the lived experience perspective about mental ill-health, addiction and recovery, including what it’s like and what helps.
